Computer Analyzed Functional Capacity
Our JTech system is used for two main reasons.
1. Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) – In cases where an injured worker is off work or in a modified duty position, we test that person’s abilities and analyze the data with computer graphics. This information is then shared with the treating doctor (in the case of a referral), the nurse case manager, the employer, and the insurance company. Our purpose here is to objectively determine the worker’s abilities and help to place them in an appropriate job position using standard Physical Demand Level (PDL) criteria and actual job descriptions.
2. Strength Testing and Range of Motion (ROM) – In order to objectively manage any patient’s treatment program, we can use computer analyzed data to benchmark and evaluate progress.
This way, we can compare subjective response to treatment (how a person feels) to objective measures (strength and ROM). Most of our patients as well as their insurance adjusters are delighted to see a report of progress.
